We are former educators who now have over two decades experience in business consulting, marketing, magazine. South Placer has been our home for the past ten years after moving from the Bay Area, In these few years we have become passionate about the wonderful appeal of this area.
We are now excited and delighted to have the privilege of working with a project which:

Who Runs MTD?
Most newcomers are happy to get a warm, authentic welcome. They are receiving welcome gift from our sponsors at the very true they are most interested in finding the services and products needed to get set up in their new environment.
As you continue to read the FAQ's and our program description the rationale for and value of MTD to the community and to local businesses will be considerably amplified.
MTD Compared To Solo Mail Piece:
The MTD envelope and certificates are designed to comey a genuine sense of welcome offered by the community. Nearly all recipients are delighted to open the envelope and examine the gift offers. In contrast, an independent piece of mail generally is perceived immediately as a solicitation. It is far less likely to be saved than the MTD welcoming pak, which includes real gifts, a community welcome, and lots of relevant community information.
Also, a solo piece can easily exceed the cost of MTD because its minimum requirements, production, printing and mail cost. Remember, depending on the choices you make, MTD could cost under $100 per month.
One last point: solo mail programs often involve sending offers over and over to the same people and is more likely to be considered 'junk' mail, whereas, MTD is a on time mailing that stands out and is sent very month to a new audience.
Do You Mail To All New Movers: Apartments and House, Owners and Renters?
Yes! Most new movers have many of the same needs and interests, such as services related to food, autos, personal care, home businesses and hobbies.
For businesses that are mostly reliant on servicing home owners, we can offer them the option of targeting only those families.
How is My Mail Area Determined?
You actually pick the zip codes that work best for your business, choose as few as one or as many as all 9 codes in our South Placer Program area. Your account manager will assist you in making carefully choices based on location, budget, location of competitors, customers demographics and the distance they normally travel, there is no minimum requirement.
Do Sponsors Have A Contract or Commitment?
Yes! There are two options: A Six Month Term or One Year Term. The one year sponsor gets two major advantages:
- Business Type Exclusivity;
- Specially Featured (Free) in the MTD Community Information Newsletter Viewed Continually By Thousands Through Online and Printed Editions.
After your initial term as a sponsor, you can continue on a month to month basis as long as you like. As a one year sponsor you retain business type exclusivity and free advertising as long as you continue in the program.
What Does It Cost? / Who Am I Billed?
Your cost can be as low as 55¢ per household with monthly cost as low as $40 to $70 up to $300 or more depending on how many zip code you choose to be in.
After each mailing you are sent an invoice that is based on the actual number of new families receiving your gift offer.
Your actual month to month cost will vary a little as a result of seasonal variations in the number of new families moving onto our communities. This variation is generally less than 15% with a tendency to be less in the fall and winter and more in the spring and summer.
The cost of MTD compares favorably with other new movers programs around the country. The average cost of MTD is 65¢ per household, whereas most other programs are $1.40¢ to $4 per household and tend to be less effective than MTD.
Do You Accept Credit Card Payment?
We accept all credit cards, electronic transfers and checks.
Can I Be Exclusive So That Competitors Are Not in the Same Pak As Me.
Yes. Annual sponsor are given business type exclusively, MTD is unique in this matter. Other advertising media such as Yellow Pages, coupons, newspapers, radio, and TV do not offer exclusivity.
How Soon After Relocating Does A Household Receive the Welcome Pak?
Welcome Pak's are received just after a family is finished coping with the chaos and demands of the initial move. The perfect timing for a new family to fully appreciate all of the many features provide in the Welcome Oak is about 1 1/2 to 2 months after moving. With this in mind, we time the mailings so that most households receive Welcome Pak's about 6 to 10 weeks past their move. This timing is ideal and usually results in sponsors getting a strong response as newcomers become new customers.
How Do You Get the New Movers Names and Addresses
New movers data is gathered from a variety of sources that record those who have changed their address. Our records are processed to assure high reliability and to avoid duplication and redundancy.
Are There Any Minimums?
No! You select what is best for your business, whether its one zip code or a combination of zip codes. This flexibility allows sponsors to participate in a program that is both effective and far more economically that most other kinds of advertising.
Can I Decide What My Gift Offer and Copy Will Be?
Yes. We take time with you to learn about your business and what is important to include in creating the unique design of your certificate offer. We make sure you are satisfied and get your final approval before we begin printing.
Can I Make Changes After I Start the Program?
Yes. We will work with you to make changes to your offer, design or zip codes. sometimes sponsors make changes to find best 'Formula' for optimal response.
An Outstanding Feature of the MTD Program is that once you gets good response, it usually continues consistently from month to month because your housewarming gift goes to an entirely new audience each month other mail marketing programs go out to the some households over and over.
Can I Get Verification of How Many Are Mailed?
Any sponsor has the option to receive the actual list of those receiving the pak's. Upon request, we are happy to provide any sponsor a copy of the 3602 postal mailing certificate which shows quantities mailed. Generally, sponsors get plenty of verification of mailing simply by incoming response.
Is the Envelope Personalized?
Yes. The envelope with its warm welcome, has the family name rather than being addressed to occupant or resident, etc.
What Kind of Response Should I Expect?
It typically takes a few weeks for sponsors to get a sense of the level of response to their gift offer. Your actual response will depend on a variety of factors such as: Your business type, gift offer, frequency customers visit or have needs, zip code(s) you selected, your location and local demographics, etc.

Do I Get Free (Bonus) Advertising That Can Increase My Response?
Yes. Each sponsors gets free bounds advertising in the MTD Community Information Newsletter which is included in the gift pak envelope and featured on the MTD website. The newsletter has such relevance that it is often saved (or bookmarked online) and viewed over and over again by both new movers and non movers alike.
You ad is different from your gift certificate design and can, if you like, feature a special discount offer for the general public. Actually, the free bonus ad becomes a valuable asset in attracting new customers which are in addition to new mover responding to your gift offer.
